Welcome
Great Blues and Fast Cars

Born on April 6th 1954 at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Ma. I spent my childhood growing up and attending school in Littleton, Ma. Most of my fond memories include hanging out at my dad’s service station, vacations at Lake Winnipesauke, baseball, basketball, waterskiing and alpine skiing.

With an extensive background in the automotive field, I have been around cars and trucks at my dad’s shop, since I was 8 years old. I have had many very cool life experiences. I have had my hand in music, as a classical trumpet player; if not on a motorized vehicle. Played basketball and baseball in high school. I also had the awesome experience of playing in the finals of the Ma state boys’ basketball tech tourney at Boston Garden, yes on the parquet. All of the time spending all of my free time with my dad at Wilson’s Esso in Littleton Ma. At this time, motor boats and speed where great interests to me. I learned to water ski and became very accomplished and began speed water skiing. After graduating high school I attended Nichols College in Dudley, Ma, attaining a degree in Economics and management. Throughout high school and college, also attending numerous automotive classes, seminars, and clinics. I still managed to pick up playing the guitar and continue my love and passion for music.

In 1978, my dad found a small service station and the help and inspiration from him; I purchased my first service station, Main Street Automotive, and later, Wilson’s Texaco on Main Street in Groton. I built and did a complete frame off restoration of a 1967 Shelby 500. Having built a Ford boss semi hemispherical v8, this car only took a year to complete. My Dad also helped in the purchase a 2nd service station in 1985, on Littleton Road in Ayer. I now had three daughters and gotten back into snow skiing, again involving speed. In 1990, I started to race alpine skiing GS and went to Mt hood in Oregon to a USSA sanctioned race camp where the Canadian Olympic team was training. I then started to get back into music, and started the Blood Street Band. A friend of mine attended a show one evening and shortly thereafter became a big part of my musical experience, his name is J. Geils.

I had become friends with Jay through cars, since his biggest passion is exotic and vintage sports cars, along with music. Jay attended a show one evening and the next night sat in with our band. Jay did not miss a rehearsal or show for close to a year. The last show we did with Jay, Magic Dick from the Geils Band was part of our Band. My next musical endeavor was with a good friend; Harry Chalmiers and the ACE ON BASS; Danny Klein from the Geils band; THE BORN BLUZERS. What a name. Harry ended up becoming president of another high level music school so we all moved to other adventures. I had the pleasure of sitting in with Dave Maxwell, Jerry Miller, Steve Ramsey, and Mud cat Ward on occasion. I then started the Gary Wilson Blues Project and it still continues. I went through several situations involving the loss of my first service station. By 2001 a change of environment brought me to working at Jay’s former vintage race and exotic car shop.

I now reside in New Ipswich, with my lovely wife Nancy, I have 3 daughters, and a stepson. I also have the pleasure of both my parents still being close by. I own a high end automobile shop in Groton again and am still into fast cars and great blues music.
